John’s journalism roots go back to the 1970’s, with monthly columns and feature articles published in national news and specialty magazines in Canada and Australia.
From November 2010 through April 2014, John was the co-founder and editor of a blog that covered Simcoe & Huronia’s live stage activities. During this period, John wrote dozens of articles and commentaries, and conducted profile interviews with theatre talents of both national and regional prominence.

Recent Journalistic Projects
May 2014 – October 2014: John wrote an-on-line journal for Canadian Contractor Magazine (CCM), detailing his experiences as a first-time General Contractor building his own home. This series ran for 21 consecutive weeks, with a weekly readership of between 300-600 professional contractors.
January 2015: John joined Canadian Contractor Magazine as a regular freelance writer for both their on-line weekly newsletters and semi-monthly print edition, and has undertaken other special projects. As of December 2017, John has completed over 400 written assignments, such as the regular photo feature ‘The Creative Eye’, which focuses on the design and execution of interesting residential projects across the country.
